Wesley Culver

May 2020

On December 12th, 2019 Wesley was taken by ambulance from our small coastal town to Randall’s Children’s Hospital where he was admitted to PICU. I was told the next morning that my 14 year old son had Leukemia! After taking Wesley to our local hospital 5 times and them not knowing what was wrong with him, I was thankful to finally be sent to Portland to a children’s hospital to figure out why my son was so sick...

After all the tests came back Wesley’s diagnosis was AML with FTL-3. Wesley is a warrior who is currently doing his 4th round of chemo and is days away from getting his Stem Cell Transplant (bone marrow transplant). Wesley loves cats (we have 8 at home) but our orange kitties are his favorite. He loves WWE Wrestling, basketball, the Blazers, and football. The Steelers and Seahawks are his favorite teams. Wesley also deeply loves his family. The hardest part of this journey hasn’t been chemo or being sick, it’s been being away from his family that’s been the hardest!
